Got the engine and trans mated last night:
All went quite well getting the trans in and mated up.
I found 2 problems thus far:
1. My trans does not have a Speed Sensor on the output housing, so I will have to find another 4-speed with the correct housing to swap over.
2. My exhaust does not line up at all, meaning I will be needing to do exhaust work as well.
Kind of depressing as it’s so close to being back on the road.
Update:
Went to the JY Thursday after deciding to leave work early (yay 3.5 day weekend), I got the extension housing I needed:
Took a break for family stuff and running around (Jefferson swap meet was Friday) I picked up a full set of SRT4 Wheels for it, they need a refinish (crummy respray, no curb rash), but I figured $40 for a set of 4 with 2 good tires was a decent deal:
Then got back at it Saturday. Had it all together and running by Saturday night, which opened up a couple new issues:
1. My instrument cluster was a mess. None of my gauges worked.
2. The trans is in limp mode. I have all the mechanical gears (reverse, park, 2nd), but it won’t shift outside those.
I managed to get the instrument cluster working right with some simple ECM swapping, so problem 1 is solved. I did some electronics swapping with the van too see if I could sort the trans. I swapped the TCMs which had no effect, but told me the TCM is fine as they both work in the van, neither work in the car. I know it’s not the solenoid pack as I got a brand new BW pack for it before it went in.
I’ll be checking the wiring and other sensors next.

I can’t make out the color scheme as if my vision is blurred or someone spiked my coffee with LSD.

Bummer about the setbacks. But, you seem like a pretty resourceful guy. I imagine this isn’t but a hiccup.
I was looking at your painting pictures again, I have to say I think that the chrome surround on the grille now looks out of place. Are you considering changing that or will it remain the same? Maybe a gunmetal?

I’m going to try to get to the JY today and hopefully pull the correct extension housing. If I can’t I’ll dig into wiring diagrams and figure out where the older trans reads speed so I can splice in there.

I kinda wish I’d have had it installed when we did the hood and just given it the same scheme. At the same time I really love the Lebaron grille and it breaks up the nose, so I may just leave it as is.
Main focus now is getting it on the road, once that’s done I’ll look at everything else closer.

I’ve received solenoid packs that were DOA
For a Mopar too (46RE)
Just sayin’

That’s why I went Borg-Warner.
The Mopar packs and OEM replacements are junk.

I was able to cobble something together so the exhaust is sorted until I can order a full 3" exhaust from FWD Performance.
Getting the trans working right is my current order of business. Once that’s done I’ll drive it as is for the moment until I get other things out of the way.

Guess I could’a been more clear. The parts were for a Mopar transmission - it’s been a number of years and I’ve tried to erase that fiasco from my memory, but I definitely did not order OEM parts.
Moral of the story, and I’ve got this story from a number of transmission folks - doesn’t matter who makes those solenoids, you’re never guaranteed they make it to your home/place of business/etc without being dead already.

That goes for most replacement parts in general really. I will likely throw it on my van and see if it works on there, that way I can rule it out. ;)

That’s the best course. If you only have P R and 2, there’s either a mechanical or computer failure. Prove the solenoids are good and you...
A670 or A604(41TE)?

Considering the A670 didn’t have 4 gears or solenoids............ Come on man, give me more credit than that.
Think I have it down to lack of power to the TPS. Without the TPS signal, the trans goes into limp mode!
